Anna and Brant are Married!
I have known Anna since we were in second grade. We haven’t seen much of each other over the years but I knew Anna would have a fun, spunky, unique wedding and Anna did not disappoint. The weather decided to be perfect for the beautiful, and laid back farm setting. The scene was set for a wonderful, fun day of celebration. Here are a few moments…

Anna and Brant, Thank you for letting us spend the first day of your marriage with you. You are a unique, amazing couple, and it was a privilege capturing your day for you!

Julie and Cooper are Married!
“Guys, I get to marry the coolest guy I have ever met in one hour.” – rough quote from Julie in the bride’s room, within an hour of her ceremony. That kind of sums up the relationship we saw between Julie and Cooper on their wedding day. They seem to just be ecstatic that they get to spend today together, oh, and also the rest of their lives. They are best friends and completely smitten with each other. Julie has the warmest, most genuine smile that fills her whole face and Cooper’s mirrors hers in her presence. They’re energy fills whatever space they are in with joy and excitement. I know that seems kind of wimsical, but it is totally true. I think it was somewhat captured in the pictures we took of their day, all though the full extent of their energy has to be experienced in person. You gotta give it to us for trying though…
Venue: Three Chimneys at Big Canoe

Julie and Cooper, thank you for letting us serve you on your big day, your joy is infectious and your party was a blast! Have fun living life on the west coast as husband and wife!

Jaquie and Kevin Got Hitched!
Wow, where do I start with this wedding. First of all, most of the pictures you see here were not taken by me. I was honored to be the Matron of Honor for my little sister, Jaquie’s wedding last month, and James and our rockstar assistant, Mallory Fisher rocked this wedding so that I could actually be a bridesmaid, oh, and a flowergirl mom. I could go on and on about these two, and I did in a speech at the reception, but to sum it all up. I love Jaquie with all my heart. She for some reason likes me too and comes to me for advice and I just adore doing life with her. She is driven, kind, considerate, loyal, and beautiful. Kevin is her perfect match. He is strong where she needs him to be and loves her in a way that lets her flourish and grow. He doesn’t need you to entertain him, he just enjoys the company of friends; and he has a lot of them which to me is an indicator that he is a good friend. Alright, it is turning into a speech… let’s just get on with the pictures, shall we?

Sally and John are Married!
Sally and John are such an incredible and incredibly unique couple. Every once in a while you need an event, in my case a wedding, that departs from the norm enough to get you out of going through the motions. Sometimes as a wedding photog I think through the day as step one, step two, step three… Sally and John are more mature than most couples that we witness becoming one. Between the two of them they have 4 kids already, one of which is in college. But that is not what makes them incredible. These two were so full of joy and completely smitten with each other, as most couples are, but seeing their relationship having gone through so much life already was a lot like taking a deep breath of fresh air… Here are the pics…

Brianna and John are Married!
I am so excited to tell you about this Mr. and Mrs.. They are not only the sweetest, most generous people you will ever meet but they also win the award for longest engagement I have ever heard of! They were engaged for a year and a half, but only a few short weeks after they graduated from UGA they were going to the chapel… literally. They got married and Perimeter Church’s Day Chapel and the day could not have been more gorgeous. See for yourself…

Brianna is so tender-hearted, and she cried both times she walked down the aisle to her groom… such a sweetheart.

Brianna and John, it was an honor to witness your union, and it is an honor to count you both as friends. Thank you for allowing us to serve you on your big day, and for letting us into your lives! You are beautiful people!

Jessica and Matt: The Wedding!
I have known Jessica for more than three years. How do we know each other? We taught Jazzercise together! This hip and fit lady now owns Johns Creek Jazzercise, the center that I hold near and dear to my heart! So I have heard a lot about Matt and his awesome son Payton in the past, but had never had the privilege of meeting them til they walked up in their dashing tuxes on the wedding day. I grew up going to Lake Lanier Islands every summer for the water park and the Magical Nights of Lights most Christmases, but I had no idea what a quaint, homey, classy wedding venue it could be! It was perfect for Jessica and Matt’s intimate, beautiful celebration…

Matt and Jessica’s ceremony had been planned to take place lakeside on a dock, but the weather had other plans and it was move into a ballroom inside the Lodge. It was still gorgeous, and like I often say to my brides, you are still going to be married at the end of the day…

Jessica and Matt, what a privilege to watch your life together begin. Thank you for letting us be such a special part of your wedding day. Congrats!

Introducing Brandon and Casey Case!
Brandon and Casey have been great friends of ours for a while now. We have on many occasions sat around our firepit, drank our adult beverages of choice and just talked about everything under the sun. The bride also happens to be best friends with my sister (in-law) Jessica who was married earlier this year. I am pretty sure that Brandon and Casey had 2 goals: 1. get married 2. have a day long party! The beautiful event took place at the Chapel at Periemter Church and the party took place at The Falls of Autry Mills in Alpharetta. Their reception was such a sweet dejavu as James and I had our reception the same place!

When it came time for Brandon and Casey to see each other for the first time, the doors opened, and Casey started to walk down the aisle. I think she got about 5 steps before she started a sprint to her groom, James and I looked up and she was almost to him. She made me, her mom, the wedding coordinator and her groom tear up at her enthusiasm to see him.

\

Brandon and Casey Case… it was a pleasure to be present for the first day of your marriage and to have you in our lives… Congrats sweet friends!

Mary Elizabeth and Jeff are Married!
Ah, ME and Jeff… There are so many ways to describe this couple, that I don’t know where to start. Before I met with either one of them, I knew one thing that Jeff made sure was absolutely clear. They Love jumping pictures. That might be the best way to describe them, like this…
Jeff is hilarious and animated, Mary Elizabeth loves him for it and encourages him and his passion for life. Together, they bring a fun, crazy energy that surrounds them and their loved ones especially on such an important and exciting day like their wedding day! You know sometimes you meet people that are your kind of people. That is ME and Jeff. They got married at Perimeter Church’s new chapel, and it was our first time shooting in their beautiful bride’s room and breathtaking chapel.

ME and Jeff thank you so much for allowing us a front row seat to your unique, sentimental, energetic day! We are so glad to know both of you and to have play such a special role in your wedding!

Elizabeth and Patrick are Married!
Beautiful, Classic, Sacred, and Sweet. The Morning of August 21st was threatening rain even as the ground was wet from the night before, but Elizabeth was just excited that either way, she would be married to Patrick at the end of the day. Elizabeth is friends with one of my oldest and closest friends who happened to be one of her bridesmaids! I am so glad that Cassie made the connection for us because Elizabeth and Patrick’s wedding was beautiful, classic, sacred, and sweet.
I was almost 35 weeks the day that Elizabeth and Patrick got married, so in an effort not to go into preterm labor, we invited Lori Wreyford from Memories by Lori to help us out as a second shooter with James. I so appreciated Lori’s help that day, as I was getting a bit slow and round.

Elizabeth and her 2 maids of honor are best friends, and they are big, medium, and small…

They had a cute way of pointing out that they are now a house divided… both very dedicated to their alma maters.

Elizabeth and Patrick, thank you so much for allowing us to celebrate with you! We hope you get through your first football season as a married couple without too many knockdown drag out fights!

Garrett and Allie are Married!
Did you ever want to feel like a rock star? What better opportunity than your wedding to dress, act, and feel like one? Garrett and Allie had the setting, the wardrobe, and the entourage. The setting was an old theatre in Huntington, West Virginia with vintage feel. The whole wedding party was styling in Toms: the girls wore yellow Toms and the guys wore white. Which brings me to the entourage. They had the coolest wedding party ever! I can say that because my husband was one of them, so look for him in some of the photos! But seriously, Garrett and Allie are the greatest of friends and they have such an amazing, remarkable, beautiful story that anything less than an amazing day just wouldn’t be right. So I guess you want to get a visual for this rock star event? Alright, here they are:

Garrett (the groom) is an amazing musician, so he sang the processional… one of my new favorite songs (You’re Beautiful by Phil Whickham).

Brittany and Chris are Married!
Brittany and Chris had an intimate, beautiful ceremony at Maggianos near Cumerland Mall. I was unable to attend as I was out of town that weekend, but James had a great time getting to know this sweet couple and their guests. One thing I must point out that I loved as I got to edit their pictures was Brittany’s dress! It had so many sweet details and was so unique! She really looked priceless on her day!

Congrats Brittany and Chris! We are so excited for you! Thanks for letting us be a part of your awesome day!

Jessica and Joel are Married!
The trip up to Jessica and Joel’s wedding was a very nostalgic drive for me. This classic couple were married in Rome, GA… site of my alma mater, Berry College. While the event did not take place at the college, the memory and charm of my college days came flooding back. We were privileged to meet Jessica through one of our wonderful brides from last year, Amy. After meeting Jessica, I knew that her day would be beautiful and classic, just like the bride herself. We met Jessica at Blonde on Broad first thing in the morning to capture the girls getting dolled up!

On to St. Mary’s Catholic Church for the 11:00 wedding!

Since Jessica and Joel got married in the morning, we decided to take all the portraits after the reception… I, personally, loved this plan since it made room for a no time pressure portrait time! Great plan Jessica!

Sarah and Bryce are Married!
We met Sarah and Bryce after having been burned by a wedding planning nightmare! We were so sorry to hear about their trouble, but in the end, it brought them to us, and for that, we are more than grateful! We would not have wanted to miss out on their plantation wedding for anything! After having coffee with them, I knew that if we met them in any capacity, we would totally be friends. On their wedding day, as all of their friends and family surrounded them I realized why I felt that way: they are truly amazing friends! They both continually served everyone around them, on the one day that they could just let everyone else serve them. Their wedding took place on The Burge Plantation in Mansfield, GA. As James and I arrived the plantation, Elegant Events were already working hard to get everything set up. This family affair was so helpful to us the entire day. Although the weather was a bit more wet than we all would prefer, the laid back, excited feel from bride, groom, and every guest there made the whole thing beautiful and idyllic. Alright, let’s get to some pictures..

With a brake in the drizzle, the staff quickly dried off the seats and prepared the guests for the ceremony. Although it did pick back up by the time the wedding party made it down the aisle, everyone kept dry with their umbrellas, and by the end of the vows, they didn’t need them anymore! The skies broke into gorgeously dramatic clouds!

Jon and Jessica are Mr. and Mrs.!
There really is no way to start talking about what a joy it was to watch this couple get married. We always get to have a front row seat for the beginning of a new chapter of so many wonderful couples. This time, we got an even closer look. We get to know the couple’s relationship, how they met, what makes them love each other, what they look forward to in their life together; but this time we were a part of the relationship from their very first start to this new start in their story. About 13 or so months ago, James declared to me that he is going to set up his brother Jon with our friend Jessica. I, being the opposite of a matchmaker, was like: that would be cool. What made you think of that? James: they both are just looking to have fun, and the people they have been involved with are either too serious or make things complicated… So he commenced his devious plan. Jess almost backed out of this blind date, and she has reminded me that I told her: even if nothing comes of it, Jon is the kind of guy that you are gonna have a good time with. People just like to be around him… Low and behold, one year and one week after their first date, we were all gathered at The Vine Community Church to witness the marriage of this amazing couple! What makes this day so much more special is that not only do we now all share the same last name, not only do we get to be family for the rest of our lives, but Jon and Jessica are our best friends. We literally could not have been more ecstatic to be a part of this day. Oh, did I mention that we were also privileged to be in their wedding party? That’s right, you will see our cameos in the wedding party and ceremony pics… which leads me to a big thank you to two people. First, Katie Davidson Photography, we owe a debt of gratitude for your amazing work during the ceremony and so many beautiful details of the day. Thank you for rolling with the dumb weather that got in the way and being flexible to shoot inside with very little time to prepare! Also, to Jaquie Beute (by sweet sister) who not only did an amazing job on my hair (and many other bridesmaids) but for working the whole day for us as we needed to step into pictures, into the night to help us pack up and get home! You both were a godsend!
Alright, alright… here are the pics!

Jessica ordered all of our flowers from an artist on Etsy.com. This is her bridal bouquet and her hair flowers, both made out of material, buttons and pearls!

Jessica’s hair and makeup were gorgeously styled by Stacy Carto.

I bet you can’t guess where Jess found her wedding dress… no not David’s Bridal… Goodwill! She had it altered to fit her like a glove… take notes future brides, this girl knows how to save money!

Time to see each other… I love that they did this at their outdoor aisle, you will see why a little later…

Dress code for guys: any grey dress pants, coordinating shirt and tie, and chuck taylor converse shoes… topped off with flowers from etsy… this is the awesomeness that comes out of it…

Dress code for the girls: ANY Blue dress, brown shoes… really? and everyone gets flowers that will never die made out of fabric and buttons! Love you Jess!

This little girl happens to be one of my biggest joys in the world… Ladies and Gentlemen… Abby Christerson, my sweet niece, daughter of James’s older brother Tom and his wife Wendy.

Once again… thank you Katie Davidson for the detail and ceremony pics…
The jars are full of jam each handmade by Jessica’s mom, flower arrangements by a great friend Lynn Ferwerda, and program made (with help) by Jon and Jessica (Jess carved the stamp on the front… she couldn’t be more talented!)

Okay, so here is the play by play: It is ceremony time, and the skys still look pretty sunny with some clouds in the sky, not a drop though, all day long. As soon as the groom comes out and the wedding party starts walking down the aisle, it starts to drizzle, just before the bride steps outside… downpour!

So, after a little consideration and time, we start processional #2 at the all too convenient Plan B in the Vine’s Sanctuary, just feet from Plan A…

When the time came just before “you may kiss your bride” Jon got, well… a little anxious. This sweet man could not wait to officially kiss his wife for the first time! And of course, my sweet husband, with perfect position as the best man, couldn’t resist this chance to get an up close and personal image of this sweet first kiss…

Of course I can’t point out one of my joys with out drawing your attention to her counterpart and older brother, Caleb, the first Christerson grandchild, and the coolest 4 year old you will ever meet! check out that suit!

Time to party, thanks to DJ Josh Whitlock!

Meagan and James are Married!
I am so pleased to share these pictures with you! I have known Meagan for a while, but had the chance to hang out with her more often just this past year. We both had the opportunity to meet with a group of girls weekly, and during that time, meagan allowed all of us to fall in love with her spirit, and enjoy her sweet perspective, and then James lured her to living closer to him in Knoxville! We were all so happy for her, but her absence was deeply felt! Months later we all found out that the man of her dreams had asked her to marry him, and soon after I had the privilage of learning that I got to be up close and personal as her photog for this special day! This was also a very special union, as Meagan became a wife and a mother to James’s children Lauren and Gabe, what a sweet new family! I hope you enjoy their precious moments as much as we did. They had a couple friends who offered to cover their reception events, so James and I got to capture their preparation through their first dance! Hope you love them as much as we do!

Mark and Dina are Married!
James has the privilege to work alongside Mark occasionally, and when he found out that he and Dina were gonna have an intimate, beautiful wedding December 29th at his parents gorgeous home, we were both so excited about being part of it. I actually got to meet Dina for the first time when she was getting dolled up for the big event… you would think I was her best friend by how sweet, welcoming, and excited she was that I was there. I knew this was going to be a touching, unique wedding.

Mark and Dina, thank you for letting us capture your intimate wedding. We were privilaged to be a part of it!

Jenna and Dan are Married!!
Last January, James and I were driving together in the morning, which is a rare occurrence, and we were listening to our favorite morning show who was had started a segment called Tradio. Right after Christmas they had listeners call in and trade things that they had that they didn’t want for something they did want that maybe had a little less value. It’s Is kinda hard to explain, but this morning they had some jewelry up for trade, a necklace and a ring. James called in and offered a wedding package with us, and they chose our offer over the other options. There were a few offers to get our package, snake skin boots, a few pageant dresses, I can’t remember the others, but finally Jenna called up and offered a flat screen tv and a Wii for our photography! So, needless to say that was an amazing offer, and they took her up on it. Thank goodness! We met Jenna and Dan last March for some engagement pictures on the Marrietta Square. Immediately I was so thankful that we got this rock star couple, with such a unique vision for their wedding, you will see what I mean.
Jenna and Dan chose an Irish Tavern in Buford, GA as the setting for their country chic wedding… check out some of the details… What is even more awesome about a lot of these items is that Jenna made a lot of them herself! She was a Superbride, and did I mention, she is an event planner?

James and I arrived at a bridesmaid’s house located conveniently near our apartment, a nice change of pace for us! The beautification was in full swing, with all the bridesmaids done, Jenna had just gotten started…

Can you tell they share the same genes? Gorgeous women!

Since Jenna and Dan wanted to take all of their portraits before the wedding, we had them gave them a moment to see each other and talk before we got started. Dan stood at the alter and Jenna walked down the aisle to him!

Look at these gorgeous girls! You wouldn’t know it but they had their jackets on til just a second before they started smiling. I am sure they were imagining white sandy beaches and a warm glowing sun!

Amazing faces! I gathered that this is a pretty classic pose for these two…

Gorgeous Bride… now lets add in the handsome groom!
I have to tell you more about this picture, Jenna’s color was a lime green (like Dan’s tie). I was here when this picture was taken I looked directly at them, but until I came home, put it on the computer and looked at it full screen I didn’t see the green leaves on the tank behind them, James saw it when he was taking the picture, so it wasn’t completely luck, but Jenna didn’t see it either until I posted it on the blog. Luck or not, I love this picture of them! So sweet!

Remember Jenna’s shoes… yeah, she is wearing them in this picture… still that tiny… or as she preferes, “fun sized”

Of course, as soon as we send the girls with bare shoulders and tea length dresses indoors, the sun comes out! We didn’t complain, we will take the sun however we could get it, but just a little ironic…

It didn’t take long to figure out that there this wedding party knew each other pretty well… They made for one fun party later that night… but I am getting ahead of myself.

Jenna’s was one of the most special bouquets I have ever seen. There were charms dangling in the middle of her bouquet. There were charms from different members of her family that meant something to them. The locket at the top is her grandmother’s and it holds a picture of Jenna and her brother from a few years ago… The lace tied around the bridesmaids bouquets was from Jenna’s dress. Since she got it altered to fun sized there was some material to spare.

Ceremony Time… check out that sun. Now you see it…

It was a little windy… just ask the bridesmaids… before their vows Dan tried to warm Jenna’s arms up, so thoughtful!

Is Jenna just that joyful? Yes… and a train picked this moment to drive by blocking out most all sound… It created this smile, and an intimate moment for the bride and groom. They said their vows to each other, and no one else heard them, they were all that mattered anyway.

After the Vows and the rings everybody closed their eyes in prayer, and when they opened their eyes, this guy was in place of the officient…
Craig, a groomsman, pronounced them Husband and wife, by the power invested in him from georgia weddings… dot com (or something like that) hilarious!
Explanation: their officient’s paperwork didn’t go through in time.

Remember that party I mentioned earlier… here we go…

Jenna’s Maid of Honor gave a very heartfelt, teary speech that got Jenna, and I am sure a few more…

Amy and Dan are Married!
We first met Amy and Dan one very hot day this past summer to take their engagement pictures in Piedmont Park, so it would only be fitting that the day we shoot thier wedding would be the polar opposite, right? It was freakishly cold this October weekend in Georgia…no one could have predicted it, but we all just rolled with it.

I met Amy, her Maid of Honor, close friend and mom at the home of her hair and makeup artist, Ania from Bee Hive Hair Company in Decatur.

Meanwhile, Dan and his groomsmen got a shave and a haircut at Dan’s local barber shop, then back to hang out and watch the Georgia game.

Next James and Dan met Amy, her Mom and I at Centennial Olympic park… like I mentioned earlier, very chilly.

We met Amy and Dan’s Wedding party at The Atlanta Train Depot Freight Room where the reception would be held. It was conveniently across the street from the Church where the ceremony would be.

This one was deemed “reverse tourism” by the cameraman/groomsman.

Amy and Her brother, I think they have the same Smile…

So if I didn’t explain this cake it would still be awesome, but just so you can fully understand… Amy is a Nurse, so the cake is Amy restarting Dan’s heart after he sees the bill for the wedding. It was so detailed, so cool. Definitely the best grooms cake I have seen to date.

Brittney and Joab are Married
I don’t even remember when I met Brittney. Granted I have a bad long term memory, but we were in High School and we attended all the same youth events. I hadn’t seen her in years, so I was so delighted when she contacted me about taking pictures for her wedding. I just knew that her wedding was going to be full of life and laughter. That is just the kind of girl Brittney is. She leaves wake of joy where ever she goes and an amazing lasting impression.

James and I arrived at Brittney’s family’s home just as she had begun getting ready. There was makeup and hair products spread out all over their huge dinner table. James complimented the table with a lazy susan in the middle, and Brittney commented that they need it with the size of her immediate family and they weren’t kidding. As time went on more members of the family emerged including one brother that had been sleeping on the living room floor amidst the business. James and I just adored this peek into the Freeman family dynamics, it reminded us of our own family dynamics.

The Artist in this pictures is none other than the great Lani Martz, a personal friend of ours who does an awesome job!

We snuck away while the last preparations were being made at the house to Eagle Ranch, where the wedding and reception were to take place… and yes, that is a horse walking toward James, just moments later he stopped right in front of James for some attention. They made me a little nervous!

Time for portraits, what a handsome group of men, right?

So, I haven’t yet told you about the adorable children in these families. Brittney has 5 neices (4 of them sisters) and 1 nephew. Joab has one adorable niece… all of them were so fun to capture, there was never a dull moment!

In the next pictures Cady, the youngest Freeman, got a lesson in centrifical force, don’t worry, no adorable children were hurt in the process of taking these portraits…

Right after we took Joab and his mothers official portrait, he leaned over and whispered something in her ear… the following pictures is what happened next.

After the wedding party processed, and all the flower girls came down the aisle, the 5 freeman nieces sang “This is My Father’s World” before the bride walked down the aisle… so precious!

Finally able to see each other, it was time to capture Brittney and Joab together. Their unique relationship was so beautiful to capture…

That’s right, Brittney and Joab left in a helicopter! here they are heading for a right around North Georgia, before they would be dropped of at their newly built home! How awesome is that?

A Sneak Peek of Dan and Jenna’s wedding!
Hey Everyone… Well last night we had blast at Dan and Jenna’s wedding, and they are already off onto their honeymoon… Which happens to be 2 weeks of trecking through Germany & France of which I am not jealous at all…
But we wanted to post a quick pic of their wedding last night at the Buford Tannery Row…

Matt and Bett are HITCHED!!
Matt, a South Carolinian, and Bett, an Alabama native got hitched a week ago in Alpharetta, GA in true southern style complete with mason jars and snow cones. They met and got to know each other as good friends before they hung out on a double date, and the rest is history. One thing was very apparent at their rehearsal dinner is that they love their friends and family well, and are loved back. Every one of their vendors were friends, which made every detail very personal and loving.
So, to the pictures: I met Bett and her girls in a nearby hotel where her out of town maid of honor was staying. She was so relaxed and having fun (despite the fact that her phone had crashed that morning and she had no one’s contact info…).

Ben and Maryjo are married!
Some people have a gift. They know two people separately, and they realize that they would be really good together. James has that gift, I don’t. Our friend Matt also has that gift, lucky for MaryJo and Ben. Matt set them up on a blind date, and… a year and two months later brings us to The Carlyle House and a gorgeous August day where they became Mr. and Mrs.
Hang on, back it up about five hours, when I arrived at Ben’s house, where his bride and all her girls set up camp beautifying. When I arrived… Ben was still there, but was making his exit to go find his guys. MaryJo must have made a decision to be laid back and enjoy every minute of the day, because she had a calming effect on her entourage.

Laura and Aaron are married!
Last week, James and I had the privilege to spend a beautiful, hot, Georgia day with two of the sweetest people I have ever met. Laura and Aaron are have the most giving and generous spirits I have ever met and they are surrounded by awesome friends and family. When James and I arrived last Thursday for this sweetly unique wedding in Griffin, GA, the wedding party minus the groom were having a run through of the ceremony. James introduced me to Laura, since we hadn’t met there, and immediately she was warm and inviting.
I then had the privilege to spend some time with her as one of her maids of honor did her make up… I soon realize this bride does not take a bad picture. Every candid shot I got of her was flawless (not bragging, she is just that naturally beautiful). I could already tell these were gonna be fun pictures to take.
